By invitation — you join through a friend
Everything's blocked? Aban still works.
Telegram, WhatsApp and Instagram are filtered, and the apps that still open aren't ones you can trust. Aban works in Iran with nothing to set up: message and call your friends, start groups, talk in voice rooms, play PS1, PSP and PS2 games together — and watch, read and listen, all in one app.
Aban is invitation-only: a friend who uses it sends you the app, and you join with their friend ID.

Why Aban
Made for Iran's internet, as it is right now
-
The messengers are blocked
Telegram, WhatsApp and Instagram are filtered. Aban connects on its own — no other app, nothing to set up.
-
The open ones aren't private
Your messages travel encrypted and are stored encrypted. No phone number, no contact list, no ads — and only your friends can reach you.
-
One app instead of five
Chat, voice rooms, games with your friends, films and music, the news and your own Claude — together, in one app that connects the same way every time.
- Telegram telegram.org filtered
- WhatsApp whatsapp.com filtered
- Instagram instagram.com filtered
- Aban aban.live works
Chat that just works
Add friends by their friend ID and talk, send photos and videos — nothing to set up, no phone number. Only friends can message you or see that you're online.
Friend ID
Six letters and digits with no look-alikes — no 0 or O, no 1 or I. Read it out over the phone and it just works.
-
Live, with ticks
Messages land the moment they're sent. ✓ sent, ✓✓ delivered, ✓✓✓ seen — and you see when someone is typing.
-
Photos and videos
Send up to 10 at once, videos up to 10 minutes. Your phone makes them lighter first so they go quickly, and a video plays while it downloads.
-
Online, Away, Busy or Invisible
Online means you're in the app, Away that you're not looking — or pick Away yourself. Busy mutes your notifications on every device. Invisible shows you offline and freezes your last seen.
-
Only the device in your hand
A message alerts the phone or PC you're using, not every device at once. Using none of them? Then they all do.
-
Link previews that don't give you away
A link shows its title and picture, fetched by our server — so the site never sees you.
-
GIFs, stickers and clips
Search them right in the chat and send one with a tap.
-
Pictures for friends only
Put up a profile picture, and one for each group. Only your friends and group mates see yours, and we strip everything else from the file — like where it was taken.
-
Your history comes with you
Chats are kept encrypted on our server and synced, so a new phone or PC picks up where you left off.
A group for every circle
Start a group with your friends, or hand out an invite code so others can join. Up to 50 people, with an owner and admins who keep it in order.
@nima can you bring the speaker tonight?
21:14On it — and the snacks.

Invite code
RW4K9PZT
Eight letters and digits. An admin can make a new one, or turn it off.
Who does what
- Owner
- Renames the group, makes admins, removes anyone, and can delete it. Leaving hands it to the longest-standing admin.
- Admin
- Adds their friends, removes members, and hands out or changes the invite code.
- Member
- Talks, reacts, joins the voice room — and leaves whenever they like.
-
@mentions that get through
Type @ and pick a name. They're told even if they muted the group.
-
Seen by 3 of 5
Ticks count the whole group: seen by nobody yet, by some, or by everyone.
-
Replies and reactions
Answer one message in a busy thread, or just react to it.
-
A fresh start for newcomers
People who join see what is said after they arrive, not the history before.
A voice room in every group — no Discord needed
Like a room: hop in, talk, leave. The whole group can be in it at once, and the audio goes straight to our voice server, so the delay stays low.
Voice quality — your choice, for your own voice
- Auto 32 kbps drops to 16 when the line is weak or a game fills it
- High 64 kbps the best sound, for a good connection
- Low data 16 kbps for a weak or costly connection
-
Push to talk, even mid-game
On Windows, your key works with a full-screen game in front. On a phone, hold the mic button.
-
It makes room for your game
On Auto, your voice steps down when the line gets busy or weak, so the game doesn't lag.
-
Noise removal, when you want it
Two switches: clean the noise out of your mic, or out of what you hear. Both stay off until you turn them on.
-
Everyone at the volume you like
Turn one person up or all the way down — only for you.
-
It finds its way back
If the connection drops, the room reconnects by itself and tells you what it is doing.
-
Made for each device
Windows: full-band voice and echo cancellation. Android: keeps going with the screen off, through Bluetooth or a wired headset.
Call a friend, turn your camera on, share your screen
Call any friend from your chat — it rings even while they're in a voice room. Turn your camera on in a call or in your group's voice room, and share your screen from Windows.
Camera quality — your choice, for your own camera
- Automatic 360p clear enough, light enough for most connections
- High 720p sharp, for a good connection
- Low data 180p for a weak or costly connection — and you get everyone else's smallest too
-
You decide who rings
Turn calls off or make them ring silently, and set each friend to ring, silent or blocked. A blocked friend can't tell.
-
Nobody rings you nonstop
A few missed calls in a row and they have to wait before they can try again.
-
Up to 6 cameras in a room
Cameras start off every time you join. Turn yours on when you like, and hide anyone's camera — only for you.
-
Easy on your data
You get each video only at the size it's shown, and nothing that's off screen. On a weak line, voice comes first.
-
Share your screen from Windows
A whole screen, a single window or a game, with its sound if you like. Everyone can watch, on a phone too — but nothing reaches you until you tap Watch.
PS1, PSP and PS2 games — played together
Pick a game from our catalog, download it once and play it on your PC or your phone. Open a PS1 or PS2 game in your group’s voice room and your friends sit down as players 2, 3 and 4 — each from their own home.
What Aban replaces
- Discord and Steam voice Your group’s voice room
- A friend on your couch Friends on seats 2, 3 and 4
- A screen-sharing app Share a screen, a window or a game
From the catalog
Some of the games ready to play now — downloaded once, then they work offline too.
-
Together, from home
Play a PS1 or PS2 game in a voice room: up to three friends take a seat with their own controller or keyboard, from a PC or a phone.
-
PSP online
PSP games that play online find other Aban players through our server — and nobody sees your address.
-
Any PC game, too
Share a game’s window from Windows and turn on Let others play: up to three friends play it with their controllers, as if they were on your couch.
-
Any controller
Xbox, PlayStation or a cheap USB pad — the buttons go by where they sit. On a phone, a touch pad on the screen.
-
Your saves stay yours
Continue where you stopped. Export every save into one file and bring them back on another PC or phone.
-
Friends see what you play
“Playing Tekken 5”, with its console, under your name — or switch it off in Settings.

-
Know before you start
Five bars show how well each one will download right now.
-
Ask for it
Can't find something? Ask for it in the app, and see when it's been added.
The news, without leaving Aban
Follow the news channels we add and read them as they post — text and photos, in the same app as your chats. No other app, no account anywhere else.
-
Only what you follow
Find feeds in the list, follow the ones you want and unfollow any time.
-
Back where you left off
A feed opens at your first unread post, with a line marking what’s new.
-
Quiet when you want
Mute one feed, or turn off every feed’s notifications at once.
-
Photos, full size
Open a photo full screen, zoom in, and save it.
Your own Claude, in workspaces
Ask Claude to plan a trip, draft a letter or explain your homework. Each workspace is a folder Claude reads and writes, so its plans and drafts stay with your chats.
-
It looks things up
Claude searches the web and reads pages when it needs to, and shows you what it read.
-
Files it keeps for you
It writes notes, plans and drafts into the workspace. On Windows, a copy lands in your Documents folder.
-
Two models
Opus for the hardest questions, Sonnet for everyday ones — picked when a chat starts.
-
It never runs anything
Claude reads and writes text in its workspace. It never runs programs on your phone, your PC or our servers.
Claude is turned on account by account.
Pictures from words, made on your own PC
Describe a picture and your graphics card draws it in seconds. Nothing leaves your PC — not your words, not your pictures.
-
On your graphics card
NVIDIA, AMD or Intel. Aban checks your card first and shows which models and sizes it can run.
-
Real models, ready to go
Install a model like FLUX.2 [klein] with one button; it downloads once and keeps itself up to date.
-
Shapes and sizes made simple
Pick from eight shapes and four qualities, and up to four pictures at a time.
-
Start from your own pictures
Give a model reference pictures — a face, a style, a place — and it draws from them.
-
Every picture kept
Each prompt and its pictures stay in the model’s gallery — copy one, or save it anywhere you like.
Windows only. Every picture in this screenshot was made this way, by the AI studio’s own engine.
Your data stays yours
Everything is encrypted: your messages on the way and on our servers, your email, your connection settings. No phone number, no contacts, no ads.
-
Sign in your way
With a password, or a six-digit code we email you. Forgot the password? Sign in with a code.
-
A lock on your PC
On Windows, set a 4–8 digit code to lock the app. Ten wrong tries sign it out and clear its chats from that PC.
-
New devices get an email
A new phone or PC signs in to your account? You hear about it.
-
A friend ID you can change
Gave yours to the wrong person? Get a new one in Settings, once a day — the old one stops working at once.
-
Updates you can trust
The app updates itself — only the parts that changed — and installs only what is signed with our key.
-
A name you choose
Pick your username and change it once a week. Old names stay yours, so nobody can pose as you.
-
See what takes space
Settings → Data and storage lists everything Aban keeps on your device with its size, and clears what you choose.
-
Report a problem in one tap
Something wrong? Report a problem sends us what we need to fix it — nothing for you to copy or explain twice.
By invitation
Join through a friend
Aban is invitation-only. There's no sign-up on this site: you get in through a friend who already uses it.
This site asks you for nothing — no form, no email. Your account is made only in the app.
-
Ask a friend on Aban
Know someone who uses Aban? Ask them — they'll send you the app for Android or Windows.
-
Get their friend ID
Six letters and digits, in their profile in the app. It's how Aban knows who invited you.
-
Create your account in the app
Install it, create your account there with their friend ID, and you're in. They get a friend request from you straight away.
Questions
Before you ask
Do I need to set anything up?
No. Chat, groups, voice rooms and everything else connect by themselves — there's nothing to set up.
Why do I need a friend to join?
Aban is a messenger between friends — only your friends can message you — so everyone comes in through a friend who's already on it. They send you the app, and your friend request is waiting for them the moment your account exists.
I don't know anyone on Aban.
Then there's no way in for now: this site doesn't take requests, and the app needs a member's friend ID to create an account.
Which games can I play?
PS1, PSP and PS2 games from our catalog, on Windows and on Android phones — and any game on your PC, shared for friends to play. A PS2 game needs a reasonably recent PC or phone; the app tells you if yours can’t run it.
Can my friends play with me from their phones?
Yes. They take a seat at your PS1 or PS2 game in the voice room, with the touch pad on their screen or a controller. PSP games play online between any two devices.
Do I need a strong PC for the AI studio?
A graphics card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel on Windows. The app checks yours before you install a model and shows what it can run; a smaller card is slower, not shut out.
Is Claude for everyone?
Not yet — it’s turned on account by account.
Which phones and computers does it run on?
Android 12 or newer on a 64-bit phone, and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. A new account can be signed in on one phone and one PC at a time.
Windows warns me when I run the installer. Is it safe?
SmartScreen warns about apps without a paid code-signing certificate, and we don't have one. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. From then on the app installs only updates signed with our own key.
Android won't install it.
Aban isn't on Google Play, so Android asks first. Allow installs from the app you downloaded it with — your browser or Telegram — and open the file again.
Are my messages safe?
Only your friends, and the people in your groups, can message you. Messages travel encrypted and are stored encrypted on our server. They are not end-to-end encrypted — that is how your history comes back on a new device.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page, choose “Email me a code instead”. Once you're in, set a new password in Settings → Account.
What does “Aban” mean?
Ābān (آبان) is the eighth month of the Persian calendar, in the middle of autumn — and an old Persian word for the waters.
